I know the clock is ticking
for you, all too soon.
So I travel to the ocean side
to allow our souls to bond.
-
The space between worlds
becomes yours and mine.
As I move closer to yours
and the sea reaches herself up
to meet my toes I know it is your
arms trying desperately to feel your blood.
-
When I feel the sea salt
softly graze my fingertips
I close my eyes and
breathe the breaths taken from you.
-
The energy of your resting place
swarms around me as I
play in the waves
feeling you splashing,
swirling me around in
your language of embrace.
-
I feel the last breath you took with your friends
between the waves you send me
when you all set out one last time
with wives and children
left behind.
-
One small child left behind is
57 and still broken. He likes playing in the waves too.
Where you are now.
-
But as I feel your heart forever trapped in time
amongst the sea life I
know it wasn’t your fault that she took you away.
-
For although I’ve never seen you
when I meet the sea
I’d know your kind eyes anywhere
and understand we would’ve been the best of friends.
