This essay is absolute perfection! 🤣 I am cackling over here because I couldn't have said it better and love how many sources you tied in to prove your claim. Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks Rhysand is a toxic manipulator to the extreme!

Thank you! I'm so glad you read it with a humorous tone (thats what I wanted)!! The more I read the series the more I wanted Rhys to perhaps bite the dust... I'm low key hoping that he tries to become an evil High King and succumbs to his inner treachery

I definitely believe that Rhys is a toxic character and I do think that he is very controlling, especially when it comes to his family, and though seeing Rhysand as a villain would be interesting, it would tear the Court of Dreams apart. Feyre would be devastated, Cassian and Azriel would be left choosing sides, Amren would be on whichever side was opposing Rhys, Mor would be torn between her cousin and what she knows is right, Nesta would have to be there for Cassian, but may get into many arguments with him, breaking the relationship that they have bit by bit, and, in my opinion, most importantly, Nyx would just be a little kid who wouldn't understand why he couldn't be with his dad, why his mother was so sad, and why his family was seemingly so distressed all the time. So while Rhys would be an interesting villain, depending on his motivations, he might not stop until he's dead, meaning someone would have to kill him, and knowing how these books go, it would probably end up being Feyre, which would break her beyond repair, and the whole Court of Dreams would be devastated, no matter what Rhys had done, not to mention that with Rhys dead and Feyre so broken she couldn't 'rule' over the Night Court, the entire Court would be thrown into chaos.
